PREPARATIONS COMPLETE FOR THE HISTORIC MARCH AT THE ECHR: THOUSANDS WILL CRY OUT FOR JUSTICE

Thousands of people from different European countries are gathering in Strasbourg, France, to draw attention to the unlawful practices in Turkey and to make the voices of millions who have suffered rights violations heard.

Activists arriving at the area from early morning hours for the march to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) are preparing to ask the ECHR with their banners and slogans, ‘How much longer will you remain silent about the lawlessness in Turkey? ‘

IF NOT NOW, WHEN?

The demonstration, organized under the leadership of the Peaceful Actions Platform formed by 24 civil society organizations, will start at 12:00 in front of the Council of Europe. At the end of the march, victims, leaders of international civil society organizations, lawyers, politicians, activists, journalists, and artists gathered in front of the ECHR will call for ‘Take action now’.

In the march for those imprisoned through unlawful trials, closed institutions, tens of thousands dismissed from their jobs, and those left to social death, relatives of people who were abducted and disappeared will speak. Additionally, European lawyers and human rights activists will call on ECHR judges to ‘Make decisions quickly’.
