Uyghurs are not on the Palace’s Agenda!

Presidential Communications Director Fahrettin Altun met with China “’s Ambassador to Ankara Liu Shaobin. The meeting discussed vaccine and other collaborations, but China”’s human rights violations against Muslim Uyghurs were not on the agenda.

Communications Director Fahrettin Altun met with the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Ankara, Shaobin. In announcing the meeting, Altun did not mention the human rights violations against Uyghurs.

COOPERATION WAS DISCUSSED

Presidential Communications Director Fahrettin Altun, who met with the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Ankara, Liu Shaobin, shared the following statement about the meeting on his Twitter account: “We met with the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, Mr. Liu Shaobin, at our Communications Directorate. We conveyed our President’s messages to his Chinese counterpart to Mr. Shaobin, and discussed our bilateral relations, particularly our cooperation on the Covid-19 vaccine.”
